NOC (Night Operating Capability) Feature – AOC-27 Vision Chart Series

The Night Operating Capability (NOC) integrated into the AOC-27 Vision Chart series (Style, Pro, and Pola models) is designed to enhance eye examination procedures under low-light conditions.

Key Benefits of NOC:

Simulates night-time conditions to better detect night vision problems or scotopic deficiencies.

Assists in diagnosing conditions like night blindness or evaluating visual acuity relevant to night-time activities (e.g. driving).

Allows clinicians to reduce ambient lighting of the screen to match real-world night environments.

In Pola models, NOC can be used alongside polarizing tests for added precision.

This feature is especially useful in clinical practices that perform comprehensive visual performance evaluations, helping to deliver precise prescriptions and detect subtle vision disorders that may not appear in bright daylight tests.

Near Ophthalmic Chart (NOC) – Ultra-Precise Near Vision Testing

The NOC is integrated into the AOC system and uses an 8″ retina-level display to conduct near vision examinations at a standard distance of 40 cm

Dedicated Near Test Library

Provides over 40 specialized near‑vision tests including ETDRS charts 1, 2, R for screens (70 cm), reading speed and reaction-time assessments, and quality-of-vision evaluations tailored for mobile device use

Customizable Sequential Testing

Clinicians can create and recall personalized test sequences for consistent patient workflows and streamlined exam processes

Diagnostic Range & Test Types

Supports standard near visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, reaction to light and sound stimuli, and reading performance metrics—essential for age-related monitoring and functional vision assessment

Seamless Integration with Remote Console

Controlled directly from the same touchscreen or infrared console used for distance tests, enabling effortless switching between near (NOC) and far (AOC) charts

Consistent Design Philosophy

Operates via embedded Linux OS with no reliance on external PCs or slideshow software, mirroring the reliability and adaptability of the distance chart system (
